Editing Process.

When our group were creating the music video, this obviously did require some editing.

Personally, I'm not really good at editing clips and putting them together by involving cutaways and other methodologies for editing.

Throughout the past 2-3 weeks, our group has been doing quite a lot of editing to create a music video. Some of the editing has become brilliant but there are a few bits that could be easily improved. For example, there could be more cutaways to show that it is an actual rock music video. Also some of the walking shots that we used can be a bit more stabilised to make it look steady.

Throughout the process, I haven't yet anything yet but eventually I will move on to the editing side of the music video in which I can progress and become more confident on the editing. All of the others in my music video group have edited some footage and I personally think that it is amazing. Overall though, I would say that Andrew's editing is the best considering he involves more cutaways which a rock video needs in order to make it look successful. The use of stabilsation is also used effectively for the footage and personally what we have done so far, I think it has become so successful.

6th Filming Session.

On the Tuesday the 26th of November, we done the 6th filming session for our music video.

Out of all of the 6 video sessions, this had to be one of the hardest filming sessions that we've tackled so far. There are many reasons for this.

The first reason is because there was only 3 of the members of the group. Liam Glencross was the only one that couldn't film with us because he was currently on crutches. This means the rest of us had to leave him behind and let him edit all of the other footage we currently filmed before.

Meanwhile the rest of us were having a massive problem. We all had to carry separate pieces of the drum kit all the way to Andrew's house which took approximately 15mins to complete. It was quite a struggle considering their was only three of us carrying parts of the drum kit but we managed to accomplish the objective successfully.

When it came to the actual filming, it was quite challenging for myself in particular. The reason for this is because it was the first time I was playing the drums for the music video. This required me to be in time with the beat and the hits of the drum being played in the music. As I was playing throughout the filming session, I then started to progress and began to improve marvelously. There was a concern when our group were filming because I accidentally forgot my costume. However on the plus side, it wasn't a massive catastrophe because Liam wasn't with us at the time and as we know, he is the guitarist for the band so overall, it did turn out okay. Also Andrew Ducasse was continuing to do his lip syncing in front of the camera involving a variety of different shot types and angles. Sophie was the one that was doing all of the filming and also guiding me and Andrew on what we should do when each of us were doing our own individual roles. Here are a few pictures to reveal what our group done throughout the filming session.

As you can see, the top two pictures are revealing myself playing the drum kit with two different shots being used. The other three shots are revealing Andrew looking at the camera getting prepared to sing. His two different shots involve a low angle and a high angle shot.

5th Filming Session.

On Friday the 22nd of November, our 5th filming session took place at the train station.

During the filming session, we involved a variety of different strategies in order to make the filming session reliable enough for the actual music video. This filming session involves Andrew and Liam meeting up with Myself when I was coming out of the train. This again is to show that Andrew needed more support from his band members to cheer him up and show that he is not alone.

Throughout this filming session, we involved a variety of different shot types and angles to make it more successful. The angles that we were using throughout the filming session were low and high angles to show the status that all of us were in, especially Andrew. As well as this, we were also doing some pan shots of Andrew and Liam making there way to the train station. We were also involving taking shots from behind. In the train station, we also involved shots of myself making my way towards Andrew and Liam. I would personally say that this filming session went rather well considering it required less guidance and everyone knew what they were supposed to be doing. Here are a few pictures including a short video to show what we had done the filming session in the train station.

4th Filming Session.

On Tuesday the 19th of November, the 4th filming session was take place at Morden Park.

During this filming session, we involved a lot of techniques that would be suitable for the music video. We all had to walk from the school to Morden which did take quite a while. However this made all of us had an advantage. The advantage was that we can get more walking shots done whilst we were on a way to Morden. Like the third filming session that Myself, Liam and Andrew done on the 12th of November, we involved a different variety of shots and angles to make the filming more effective. Like third filming session, it was quite a challenge because the session did require some guidance.

Once the walking shots were done, we then made our way to Morden Park to do the other shots. These shots involved Andrew being with Sophie. During this process, we were using a variety of different shots and angles to make the filming look more advanced and amazing. During this filming session, Andrew also meet up with Liam to give Andrew some comfort and some assistance. The pictures below are revealing some of the shots that we involved during this session. Below the pictures, there is also a mini clip some of the shots that we have done throughout this filming session.

3rd Filming Session.

On Tuesday the 12th of November, our group decided to film outside near the school to do the walking shots. This was quite a challenge because we had to make sure only Andrew (the vocalist) was in the shot. Another reason why it was hard is because Liam (the cameraman) had to do a variety of different shot transitions. I was the one that had to hold the phone and play out the music in order to make Andrew lip sync with the song. Again this was quite a challenge because I had to make sure that i wasn't in the shot during the filming.

Overall I'd say this was the hardest filming session we've had so far because it required the cameraman to walk backwards most of the time which of course required a lot of assistance and guidance in case anything bad happened throughout the session.  Also we only had three of us in the session which means it wasn't as easy as it would of been. At the end of the session, I would personally say that the filming went really well but of course there were a couple of bits that we could of improved on.

Unfortunately we were unable to get any pictures to prove that we accomplished this task but our completed music video will reveal this.

1st Filming Session.

On Tuesday the 3rd of October, our music video group were filming our first music video session.

Our first filming location took place at Andrew's house. During this music video session, our objective was to get the lip syncing done at Andrew's house. Our objective went very successful at the end. There two main reasons for this; camerawork and use of angles. Throughout this filming session, the cameraman, Liam Glencross, was using a variety of different camera shots/angles in order to make the music video become more effective and successful. He close ups to show Andrew Ducasse's (Vocalist) facial expression when he was lip syncing. The Cameraman also used long shots and mid shots to reveal the location that the vocalist was situated in (which of course was Andrew's house). Liam Glencross also used a range of different angles. He used a mixture of high, low and eye-level angles to show different types of status and also the use of authority that Andrew was having throughout the music video.

Overall, I personally think that the filming session went really well because we used a different range of media terminologies to make the filming more successful and more effective and as a group, I personally think we done a load of hard work throughout the session.

Again we were unable to get pictures that revealed this process taken place.

2nd Filming Session.

On the Tuesday the 5th of November, our group were filming another part of our music video. This time, we were filming the narrative part were Andrew was getting kicked out by Sophie.

Throughout this filming session, we were using a load of different filming techniques in order to make this part of the music video become successful. Our group done a load of different shots in order to make it more effective. the types of shots that our group was doing were a high angle shot, eye-level shot and side angle shots. We used a high angle shot to reveal Andrew getting kicked out of the house to show that he has got low status. We also used an eye-level shot to reveal Andrew's facial expression. Finally, we used a side angle shot to reveal the location that Andrew was in which was outside which again shows that he has been kicked out.

Throughout this filming session, we were also using props and costume in the filming. We used cardboard boxes to show that Andrews belongings were getting chucked out of the house. The costume we used throughout this filming session was very good. The reason for this is because Andrew was wearing a blazer to show a smart sensible character. Sophie on the other hand was wearing normal casual clothing. Precisely, she was wearing a normal top with dark black skinny jeans to show that she is an ordinary normal character. Personally, I looks like Andrew had the higher status considering he was wearing a smart uniform but it turns out Sophie was the one with the most authority out of the two.

As you can see, the pictures on the left are showing some of the shots that Liam took that is part of our music video. The two shots are located both inside and outside of the house revealing different actions taking place.
