Location Post Ideas

As a group, we all decided to have a discussion on the location that our music video would be set in. We came up with a number of different of locations. I personally happy because of the variety of different locations and all of the areas are in with easy distance. This is a big advantage as the travel is not a big problem and therefore our group can keep going out to shoot.

Sony Music Entertainment Label Company.

Sony Music Entertainment (SME) is a music record label company in America which is owned and operated by the Sony corporation of America. Unlike the other two record label companies in my other blog posts, this label record company is not as popular but is still successful and well advanced on its working quality and performance.

Key Important points about Sony Music Entertainment:
  • They were first found in 1929 (As American Record Corporation).
  • They tend to focus on every every genre involved in the music category.
  • There Headquarters (HQ) is located in New York in the United States.
  • There owner is Sony Corporation.
For this music record label company, it has been working for near enough all musicians involved in the music industry simply because it focuses on every genre in the music category. This is one of the reasons why this music record label company is very successful and fully effective for the music industry.

BMG Label Company.

BMG (Bertelsmann Music Group) is a record label company that was a division for Bertelsmann before its completion of sale of the majority of its assets. This music record label company is the third biggest label company publisher around the world and it has become one of the most successful music publisher companies.

Important points about BMG:

  • The headquarters (HQ) for Bertelsmann is located in German.
  • The record label company was first founded in 1987.
  • The successors for this publisher were Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Publishing Group and BMG Rights Management.
The music record label company have been working with a variety of different artists and bands throughout the past. Some musicians that they worked with include Coldplay, Take That, Ne-Yo, Linkin Park, Kelly Clarkson, Justin Timberlake, Maroon 5 and so much more artists/bands.

Lyrics Analysis.

The two images are revealing the lyrics that we would need for the lip-syncing of the music video. As well as looking through the lyrics of our chosen song, we also analyzed each part of the song by giving our own personal thoughts on what these lyrics might mean to us. For each paragraph on the lyric sheets we came up with various ideas that we could include in our music video to show what these lyrics are relating back to.

Song Details and Initial Ideas.

What song has our group chosen?

The final song choice that me and our group decided to choose is "Learn't May Lesson Well" by The Kaiser Chiefs.
The reason why me and our group decided to choose this song is because it had a useful tempo speed and the lyrics were clear to understand when we will be doing the lip-syncing. it has good use of instrumentation which is useful for our group.
The genre that this song is categorized in is rock.
My personal ideas for making the music video would be me playing one of the instruments our group can here in the song. I can also involve some quick cut away shots in the music video showing each band member for example guitar/drum kit/vocalist/etc.
We will all be performing in the music video as this is a rock song. We are all band members apart from Sophie who instead will be the narrative character throughout the video. We as a group are thinking about involving quick cut away shots to show everything happening in the clip including instrumentation shots, narrative shots and band member shots.
We are mostly thinking about a recording studio. The reason for this is because the recording studio is a dark place which will give us the opportunity to light up in the background. For the narrative part, we could be thinking somewhere more outside like the streets.

Example Questionnaires

All of these images above are revealing one questionnaires being answered  by different people. As we can see, we have got different results for each sheet. After we looked up all the results we got from our audience, we then added up all of the results for each question and made charts to show our results.
